Facebook can predict your break-up !!

Scientists have developed an algorithm using which it can be predicted who you are dating and when are you possibly going to break up. The algorithm predicts results on the basis of the number of mutual friend between two.

The algorithm is developed by a Cornell University professor Jon Kleinberg and a senior Facebook engineer Lars Backstrom. They takes advantage of a new metric system called "disperson," which looks at connections between people who have different sets of friends. Kleinberg and Backstrom studied data from 1.3 million randomly selected, anonymous Facebook users, all of whom were at least 20 years old, with anywhere from 50 to 2,000 friends, and all of whom indicated in their profiles that they were in relationships, analyzing a total of some 379 million nodes and 8.6 billion links.

They found that by using dispersion to study the partners’ relationships, rather than embeddedness, they were able to more accurately identify the partners. They predicted with a accuracy of 60 percent of whom they are dating which is much larger than 2 percent, which is the prediction accuracy otherwise. They also found that the couples with lots of mutual friends have higher chances of breaking up.

High dispersion also seems to be correlated with longer relationships, researchers said. Couples were 50 per cent more likely to break up in the next two months if the dispersion algorithm failed to guess that they were dating, the study found.

Here is my question for the readers : Do you really think that the friend list can be used as a tool to predict partners and when are they going to break up? Do give your views on comment section and do not forget to share the article with your friends too if you liked it.

Why BBM can't beat Whatsapp ?

At last, after a wait of about one month the BBM is launched for the users of android and IOS. Its arrival also pulled a large number of audience, about 10 millions of download within 24 hours of launch. But will BBM be able to beat Whatsapp in popularity? Well it seams that there are various loopholes and issues due to which, according to me, whatsapp is still far ahead of BBM, at least for few starting months. Here are my reasons why.

http://techinfoblogg.blogspot.com/
BBM logo and Whatsapp logo

  1. PIN based model of BBM makes it different from whatsapp. Here pin based invite may be considered as an advantage when you dont want to share the cell number with a person. But for this one can use google talk instead, which is far more popular and simple.
  2. The current version of BBM for android contains some bug which needs to be removed. I found a check mark (signifying non-delivery) next to the messages sent by me even when the recipient had already read those messages (something that they confirmed via WhatsApp and/or Google Hangouts).
  3. The user interface of whatsapp is better than BBM (according to me). The chat window of whatsapp there are more previously sent and received messages than BBM. Also the avatar in the chat window of BBM swallow up a large space.
  4. Both BBM and whatsapp allows to send and share files like image, audio or video but in whatsapp the sharing is more interactive and easy than BBM. Also contacts and location sharing is not supported in BBM
  5. Emoji is a new language for communication now a days. In this field whatsapp is far far ahead of BBM.
These were some of my reasons why I prefer whatsapp over BBM. But it does not means that I do not like BBM or I am saying that you should not use BBM. Its all your choice which app you want to use, you may like BBM over other apps.

How to fix blue screen ?

The Blue Screen of Death (also known as a stop error, bluescreen, Blue Screen of Doom, BSoD, bug check screen or Stop screen) is an error screen displayed by operating systems after a crash.By default, most Windows installations are programmed to automatically restart after a BSOD which makes reading the STOP error code nearly impossible.

Blue screen in windows 8

Blue screen errors can occur if a serious problem causes Windows 7 to shut down or restart unexpectedly. You might see a message that says, "Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. To troubleshoot the blue screen error, boot the computer into Safe Mode.
  1. From the Desktop right-click on My Computer.
  2. Click the Properties option.
  3. In the System Properties window click the Advanced tab or the Advanced system settings link.
  4. In Advanced click the Settings button under Startup and Recovery.
  5. In the Startup and Recovery window uncheck the Automatically restart check box.
  6. Click Ok.
Note: If you're getting a solid blue screen with no white text, you are not encountering a BSoD. It's likely a problem with your video card, monitor, or other hardware. Follow the no display on monitor troubleshooting steps to diagnose this problem.
